Welcome to KMS Outdoors

This is it! We are finally here. Three years after making the decision to leave the world of finance and accounting and a year after finishing the Outdoor Adventure Naturalist program at Algonquin College, I am pleased to introduce you to KMS Outdoors.

It has been a long journey not only for me but for the friends and family who have supported me along the way. So this post is a celebration of all the hard work we have put in to make us fit enough to make it to the trailhead. That’s right. Congratulations, we have only just begun our adventure and I cannot wait to see what spectacular vistas each twist and turn in the trail brings us.

In the meantime, for more on what KMS Outdoors is all about please check this out.

As far as the blog is concerned, I have four goals for this space:

  1. To create a spot for dialogue about the great outdoors; to share stories, trip reports, tips, and tricks in a friendly, non-competitive environment.
  2. To get out and explore new places; to be inspired myself and to inspire you.
  3. To discuss career change.
  4. To share snippets from my book-in-progress.

I will post once a week and I will attempt to leave commenting available on the blog for as long as my spam filters hold up. Should it get particularly spammy, we’ll take the conversation over to social media which will always be available for discussions no matter what.

That’s it! Keep it fun and respectful and I look forward to our conversations.

Up for discussion: what goals have you set for yourself and how will you measure your progress towards them?
