Into Gros Morne National Park we go! My third official guiding gig with Wild Women Expeditions departed four days after my second official gig – from Newfoundland.
Preparations
[su_divider top=”yes”]
With a big group slated for Wild Women’s last Newfoundland Multisport Adventure, another guide was needed to help Katie B. and this was my chance to get to know Newfoundland from a WWE perspective.
I arrived a couple of days early to get to know the plan for the week and work in the WWE ‘office’ for a day.
On Friday we grocery shopped in Corner Brook (you should see the looks one gets when shopping for 14 adults!), picked up the rental vans at the Deer Lake airport, ran everything up to the cabins in Rocky Harbour, and ran back down to Deer Lake to pick up our women arriving from all over Canada and the U.S.
After everyone got themselves settled in their cabins, we enjoyed a pub dinner together in Rocky Harbour, gave them the lay of the land for the upcoming week, and headed to bed to rest up from a day of traveling and prepare for our first hike.
