Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show 2017

I’ve attended the Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show since 2012.

I attended as a ‘spectator’ in 2012 and 2013. I remember talking with John Catucci after a Tourism Yukon presentation in one of the theaters. The presentation included homemade cinnamon buns. Yum.

I worked the show for Ontario Tourism in 2014 where I helped presenters get set up on the technology in the Ontario Outdoor Adventures Theatre. I met Dave and Deb of The Planet D, Michelle of Voyageur Wilderness Programme, and a pretty awesome Parks Canada person.

I worked the show for Wild Women Expeditions in 2015 and 2016. Those two shows gave me a chance to meet so many of WWE’s clients as well as people who had connected with me on social media. Outdoors people are surprisingly active on social media!

This year Wild Women isn’t attending the show. I offered my time to Algonquin College and then had to rescind my offer.

The reason for the tree frog cover photo: I am going to Costa Rica with the College as a support instructor for its Reading Week Rainforest and Tropical Science elective.

So for those of you who I normally catch up with at the show once a year, we’ll have to find another way to meet in person. For all of you blogging it, I can’t wait to read your pieces. And for those of you exhibiting and speaking, knock it out of the park.

We’ll have stories to share in March.

The Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show runs from February 24 to 26, 2017. For tickets, click here. For why I love the show so much, click here.
