EARTH University was founded in 1990 near Limón as a collaboration between the government of Costa Rica, the Kellogg Foundation, and USAID. Its primary purpose is to promote sustainable development practices.

Costa Rica is a country at a crossroads with its tourism industry. I spent a week learning more about ecotourism and helping to facilitate a Rainforest and Tropical Science course for Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley.
